Tired of the usual atmosphere of eating places? Sanur local kitchen can be an interesting option to try. Located on Jalan Kanda No.8, Sanur, South Denpasar, Bali, this restaurant has a concept of open space or open space that is quite a lot with various animals roam free.
The atmosphere is comfortable and quite shady because many trees surround the main building that has a total area of 20 acres. By simply shopping for food here, visitors can go around looking at the collection of animals.

The owner of the local Kitchen Sanur, Kristi Melodi, tells of the animal in his place since he was small. “What I know since kindergarten is already there (animal), means it has been around 14 years and most of them here poultry,” Melody said when met detikBali, Saturday (1/3/2025).

The youngest of 3 siblings said that various poultry there was a collection of his extended family. Sanur’s local kitchen is a place to live the poultry.
Over time, the place turned into a halfway house and had become a luxury restaurant.
“Usually people here often invite children. Because usually small children like animals, so they have new experiences for them. That is the reason people come here,” Melody said.
Most animals here come from the African and Asian continents. Like blue peacock, crown birds (crowned cranes), mountain goats, to ostrich. This animal can be seen closely for free by just buying food and drinks.
“The animal here is not an animal that is protected and imported from abroad, so it has official documents,” said Melody.
Present the archipelago dish with a home menu

The typical home menu of the archipelago is served in the local kitchen of Sanur. Many choices of side dishes and vegetables are cooked fresh every day.
detikbali tasted several choices of side dishes such as sesame chicken, beshek fish, and tofu oyster sauce with chickens that are a favorite. It feels quite balanced with each other and quite comfortable in the stomach.
For spicy enthusiasts, two choices of chili sauce are provided, namely onion sauce (quite spicy) and a lighter sauce (medium spicy) that can be taken as he pleases.
There are two booking options that visitors can choose from, namely by package or selecting per item. Food prices vary from Rp. 28 thousand to Rp. 47 thousand for the package menu. While the carte -style menu starts from Rp. 7 thousand to Rp. 15 thousand per item.
“We actually want to display affordable, cheap and delicious food, that’s the goal,” Melody concluded.
One of the visitors, Agnes Kilapong, told her first experience coming to the local kitchen of Sanur. He was curious about the content on social media that displayed the experience of eating while looking at various animals.
“In the city of Denpasar itself it’s rather difficult to see animals like that, if we want to have to go to a zoo that is quite a price. So I think this is a cheap alternative,” said Agnes who deliberately came with his son.
Agnes assesses the benefit of eating here is being able to see or interact from a close distance to various animals. The food menu according to him is delicious and can be enjoyed.
“The whole is very good here, very rarely in the middle of the city concept like this,” he said
