M. Aboe Talib coffee shop still exists in the middle of the rise of modern coffee shops. This shop was founded in 1940 in the Gajah Mada Jalan Shopping area, Tabanan, Bali.

“I guard the price and quality. This is what makes customers continue to come,” said Bagus Tri Waluyo, owner of Kedai M. Aboe Talib, Sunday (2/3/2025).

As the third generation, the main challenge in maintaining this coffee shop is the supply of raw materials that are increasingly difficult because it is exported. Good, you have to look for coffee to remote areas.
“I am looking for coffee from cooperatives in Pupuan, Pupuan District, one of the coffee-producing areas in Bali. Usually I use Robusta,” he explained the 56-year-old man.
Although the price of coffee from suppliers sometimes rises, Bagus still maintains the quality of its products. “If the price goes up, we go up a little, but I don’t reduce the quality,” he added.
Coffee and various drinks in M. Aboe Talib are sold from Rp. 5 thousand to Rp. 12 thousand. The mainstay menu at Kedai M. Aboe Talib is a filter coffee for Rp. 6 thousand, this shop also offers a variety of market snacks at pocket -friendly prices.
Aboe Talib coffee shop in Tabanan has three floors. The ground floor is a kitchen, cashier room, several tables for customers. The second and third floors for coffee places.
The rooms on the second and third floors are facilitated by sockets, smoking areas, and seats like cafes in general. The size of the room is not too wide about 2.5 meters but extends.

Kedai Aboe Talib is open at 05.30 WITA after dawn prayers until 23:00 WITA. Besides in Tabanan, Bagus’s family also opened a branch in Denpasar.
“In Tabanan, we still maintain traditional concepts, while in Denpasar the concept is modern. Already used a modern coffee machine with a double price,” said Bagus.
With eight employees working in two shifs, Aboe Talib shops are also active in various culinary exhibitions and are often invited by local governments. Aboe Talib shop also subscribed to officials to the police.
“Every year we are invited to the city’s birthday,” he said. As a form of innovation, Aboe Talib coffee shops now also serve online orders.
