Tips for Maintaining Body To Stay Fit During Ramadan Fasting


KOMPAS.com – Ramadan fasting is a sunnah worship of Muslims which is more or less carried out 30 days.

Not eating and drinking starts when the sun rises at dawn until the sun sets.

So that the body remains fit and not weak during fasting, you must continue to be hydrated, dawn with nutritious food, and do not break the fast excessively.

1. Stay hydrated

When fasting, the body is vulnerable to dehydration because it does not drink for several hours.

How to overcome it, drink 8 glasses of water per day: 3 cups at dawn, 2 cups when breaking the fast, 2 glasses after breaking the fast, and 1 glass before going to bed.

In addition, you can also consume foods such as vegetables and fruits that are rich in water.

Reduce the consumption of drinks that contain caffeine, such as coffee, tea, soft drinks, and energy drinks, because these drinks are diuretics that can increase urine production.

2. Get enough nutrition at dawn

Sahur plays an important role in storing energy reserves before fasting. When dawn, consume more foods that are high in fiber, such as fruits and vegetables.

Choose complex carbohydrates such as rice, bread, whole wheat, oatmeal, potatoes, and pasta.

Some studies also recommend foods high in protein and good fat, such as eggs, avocados, and nuts, because the absorption process is relatively slower, which will provide longer energy reserves throughout the day.

Eat enough portions to avoid drowsiness during the day.

3. Eat with enough portions

The size of the portion is important, the body needs about 20 minutes to note that our body is enough to eat.

So do not overeat when breaking the fast, eat enough and listen to the body when it is satisfied hunger.

Do not increase body stress, give a lot of energy by eating a lot.

4. Rest is enough

Adjusting the hours of sleep will certainly be a challenge during the fasting month, so you are advised to sleep early in order to get up early to dawn.

Apply Sleep Hygiene Like a warm shower before going to sleep so that the body relaxes, drink warm drinks such as milk, clean the mattress from dust, turn off the lights in the bedroom, and avoid playing gadgets before going to sleep to get regular and optimal rest.
