Kompas.com – Tofu meatballs are often the choice of snacks because of its chewy texture. Usually, tofu meatballs are made with a mixture of beef or chicken.
However, for those who want to make tofu meatballs without meat, there are alternatives that remain tasty. This recipe uses white tofu as the main ingredient of meat replacement.

The soft texture of tofu will combine perfectly with tapioca flour. The results remain chewy, even without the addition of beef or chicken.

Meatball tofu recipe without meat
Material
- 20 fried tofu pieces, split not to break up
- 20 pieces of dumpling skin
- 400 grams of raw white tofu, puree
- 200 grams of anchovies (wet)
- 1 egg
- 1 carrot, peeled and shaved
- 1 tablespoon of sesame oil
- 170 grams of tapioca flour
Ground spices:
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 1 teaspoon fried shallots
- ¼ teaspoon pepper powder
- Salt to taste
- Blend the anchovy of rice that is still wet. Can also use anchovies directly in the dough.
- Mix white tofu, eggs, rice anchovies, shaved carrots, spices, and sesame oil in one container.
- Stir all ingredients until evenly distributed and form a mixture that can be scavenged.
- Fill the dough into fried tofu and dumpling skin until it is fully charged.
- Prepare a steaming pan, heat the water, then steam the meatballs for 20-30 minutes until cooked.
- Tofu meatballs are ready to be served, enjoy with chili sauce or peanut sauce to make it more delicious.
