KOMPAS.com – Rawon is one of the typical foods of East Java made with family spices and the main ingredients are beef.
Rawon is cooked with complete seasoning, namely family, orange leaves, bay leaves, galangal, leeks, onions, garlic, coriander, and candlenut.
Rawon is suitable to be served with chili paste, small sprouts, and salted eggs, here is a full recipe.

Material:
- 500 grams of lean beef
- 2 lemongrass stems, memor
- 3 orange leaves
- 2 bay leaves
- 3 cm galangal
- Olive oil to taste to saute
- 2 leeks, thinly sliced
- 1 liter of water
- Salt to taste

Ground spices:
- 5 cloves of shallots
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 4 fruits, take the seeds
- 1 ginger segment
- 1 turmeric segment

- Wash the beef thoroughly then cut into large dice.
- Boil beef with orange leaves, lemongrass, galangal, and bay leaves. Cook until the meat is tender.
- Saute the spices that have been mashed until fragrant. Add to the meat stew, stir well. Cook until the meat is cooked.
- Add a little sugar and salt according to taste. Let stand a few minutes, remove from heat.
