Diarrhea is a disease that makes sufferers often defecate with liquid stool or feces conditions. This condition makes the sufferer experience a lack of fluids and becomes weak. In fact, in the long run it can make dehydration to fever.

Reporting from various sources, in order to recover quickly from diarrhea there are some foods that must be challenged. Spicy foods, dairy products, to foods that contain gas should not be consumed.

Quoting Cleve and Clinic, there are some good foods consumed for diarrhea sufferers so that the healing process is faster. “The usual plain and simple food that can be supplied well,” said Dr. Donald Kirby, a Gastroenterologist and Nutrition Specialist.

The following is a list of good foods and drinks consumed by diarrhea sufferers:

1. Diet ‘Brat’

One of the good foods consumed refers to the ‘Brat’ diet. BRAT is an acronym for food name, namely B (Banana) or Banana, R (Rice) or Rice, A (Applesauce) Apple Sauce, and T (Toast) or Bread.

Bananas are called good for treating diarrhea, because the starch in it can absorb water in the large intestine so that it can harden the stool. Bananas are also rich in potassium which is the main electrolyte substance.

Good rice consumed is white rice, because it is easier to digest. Apple sauce can be a substitute for sugar. Toast from white bread is easy to digest than whole wheat bread.

2. Food bland

Blandy food is also good for curing diarrhea. Because, food that has no taste can calm the stomach.

The soothing foods include oatmeal, cereal without milk, boiled potatoes or roasted, and roasted chicken without skin. Although it feels bland, but quite delicious when eaten.
