Thanks to the sweet taste of legit, many people eat dates at dawn or iftar. However, there is actually a daily dates consumption limit so as not to endanger health.
Consumption of too much dates is actually associated with health risks. Then, what is the safe limit to eat dates a day?
Nutrition specialist at Boromeus Bandung Hospital Johanes Chandrawinata said in an interview with CNNIndonesia.com, two medium -sized dates containing 37 grams (g) of sugar.

Johanes did not dismiss that dates are good for people who break their fast.
“Dates can meet the reduced or lost sugar needs after holding thirst and hunger all day,” Johanes said.

However, Johanes still suggested that not excessive consumption of dates. According to Johanes, the deadline for dates a day is three items.
“Three items when fasting, that is enough,” said Johanes.
However, do not mix dates with other sweet drinks such as syrup, juice added with sugar, and others.
Instead of with a sweet drink, balance the intake of dates with mineral water when breaking the fast.
“Remember that eating dates is balanced with drinking water when breaking, no need to use other sweet drinks,” he said.
Besides sugar, continued Johanes, dates also contain carbohydrates. Two medium -sized dates only contain 31 g of carbohydrates with a total of 110 calories.
The same amount of dates also contain 1 g of protein, 3 g of fiber, and zero fat.
“So he is mostly carbohydrates. But the dominant is 37 grams of sugar,” added Johanes.
