During the fasting month, many takjil were sold in the afternoon for Muslim breaking meals. Avoid just buying takjil because there are characteristics of dangerous takjil according to BPOM.

Takjil or snack breaking the fast is always present in the month of Ramadan. Without takjil, breaking the fast does feel incomplete. Therefore during the month of Ramadan various snacks to break the fast are also sold in various places.

This snack is many types, ranging from fried foods, fruits, various drinks, to various sweet foods. It feels, of course delicious. But still you have to be careful when you want to buy takjil sold on the market.

The Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) revealed a number of takjil sold on the market containing dangerous ingredients. “The most common found (containing) borax, formalin, Rhodamin B, Methanyl Yellow,” said the Head of BPOM Taruna Ikrar during the inspection in the Takjil Dam Hilir market as reported by detikHealth.

This mixture of harmful ingredients is actually seen in takjil. Before buying, you should check the list of takjil characteristics that use dangerous materials as follows:

1. Remarks and not sticky

Meatballs, cilok, rice cake and rambak crackers often use borax mixtures. Food characteristics that use borax usually have a springy texture, not sticky, and not easily broken.

It is undeniable that takjil with a striking color is indeed attracting attention. But be careful, the article this striking color sometimes shows that the food uses textile dyes such as rhodamin B (red) and methanyl yellow (yellow).
