KOMPAS.com – Red eating oil is oil obtained from refinement without purification (Bleaching) and deodorization, as well as through the fractionation of crude palm oil (Crude Palm Oil).
The process of bleaching that is not passed by red dining oil makes the color of this oil red.

Simply put, red meal oil is a palm oil derivative product that is predicted to have a number of benefits.
The definition of this red dining oil is written in the Minister of Cooperative and MSME Regulation on Cooperative Based Red Eating Oil Governance in 2023.
Red meal oil was inaugurated by the former President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo in March 2024 at the Merbau Red Eating Oil Factory in Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra.
When inaugurated one year ago, red meal oil was sold between Rp. 14,000-Rp. 15,000 per liter.

This product is subsidized by the government amounting to Rp 6,000-Rp 8,000. The community only needs to pay Rp. 8,000 per liter of red dining oil.
Red food oil is considered safe cooked at high temperatures up to 175 degrees Celsius.
“The vitamins are not lost, vitamins A and E, as well as other nutrients are still in this red meal oil which is used to fry anything,” Joko Widodo said, quoted from Kompas.comThursday (3/14/2024).
He claimed, red eating oil has been tried by several chefs and is considered better and because it has better nutrition.

In the same ministerial regulation, red food oil is said to be an alternative yellow cooking oil.
Red oil can also be added to food and consumed directly in addition to nutrient intake.
The Palm Oil Research Center (PPKS) also introduces simple technology for the production of red eating oil that still maintains its compound content.
The compounds in red eating oil are high-level phytonutrients, including carotene (as pro-vitamin A), tocopherol and toxotrienol (as vitamin E), and squalene, quoted from the Ministry of Agriculture’s page.

The benefits of consuming red meal oil include helping the formation and development of the brain, as well as metabolism in children because of the content of oleic acid and linoleic acid.
Red eating oil is also considered to be the potential to be an anti-stunting food solution because of its rich nutritional content, such as vitamins A and E.
