Johni Asadoma was officially appointed as Deputy Governor of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) for the 2025-2030 period by President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, on Thursday, February 20, 2025. Johni accompanied Governor Emanuel Melkiades Laka Lena.
This inauguration marked a new chapter in Johni’s career, previously known as a high -ranking police officer and a boxing boxing athlete.

Two vehicles owned are Toyota Rush in 2018 worth Rp 199,000,000 and Toyota Double Cabin Hilux in 2024 worth Rp 481,800,000.

Professional boxing career
Before a career in the police, Johni was a successful amateur boxer. He won a gold medal at the 1983 SEA Games in Singapore and represented Indonesia at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics.
Dedication in the police
After retiring from the boxing world, Johni joined the Indonesian Police Academy and pursued a career to reach the rank of the Police Inspector General. He once served as the NTT Regional Police Chief and Head of the National Police International Relations Division.
Involvement in peace missions
Johni led the first Garuda Bhayangkara Indonesian contingent to join the UN Peace forces in Darfur, Sudan, in October 2008.
Gait in Sports Organizations
In addition to achieving as an athlete, Johni is also active in sports organizations. He once served as Chairperson of the Indonesian Boxing Association (Pertina) Center for the 2016-2020 period.
