5 places to eat halal in Hong Kong, note before traveling

KOMPAS.com – At least, Hong Kong has 153 halal certified restaurants and has Muslim -owned status as of February 2025.

Halal Restaurant Certificate in Hong Kong is accredited by the Incorporated Trustees of the Islamic Community Fund of Hong Kong (Supervisory Board).

The number of halal restaurants in Hong Kong increased by more than 50 percent this year. Previously, there were only 100 halal restaurants in Hong Kong until June 2024.

“Hong Kong is very ready to accept the arrival of Muslim tourists. In addition to restaurants, we have Muslim friendly accommodations for families,” said Southeast Asia Regional Director Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), Liew Chian Jia, in Central Jakarta, Thursday (3/13/2025).

According to Indonesian celebrity chef, Yuda Bustara, finding halal food in Hong Kong is not difficult.

“If it is halal food in Hong Kong, there must be a halal label. Near the mosque area, there are also many communities that sell food, usually there are halal labels, halal restaurants, it is definitely halal,” said Yuda.

1. Chineseology

Islamic Center Canteen is located on the 5th floor of the Amar Mosque and Osman Ramju Sadick Islamic Center at Wan Chai.
