KOMPAS.com – Yellow rice is generally made for thanksgiving and celebration celebrating something special.
You can make yellow rice at home with turmeric, orange leaves, bay leaves, coconut, thick coconut milk, lime, and lemongrass.
Yellow rice can be equipped with side dishes such as dry tempeh, fritters, chicken opor, serundeng, and jerky balado.

Material:
- 1 liter of rice
- 400 ml of thick coconut milk from 1 coconut
- 2 orange leaves
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 lemongrass, take the white part, make it
- 4 tablespoons of turmeric juice
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 lime, squeeze the water

- Wash rice clean, drain. Add two tablespoons of turmeric juice, stir until well blended. Let stand for about an hour, so that the color of turmeric soaks in rice.
- Steam yellow rice until half cooked or for about 40 minutes. Lift.
- Meanwhile, cook coconut milk with orange leaves, bay leaves, lemongrass, salt and two tablespoons of turmeric juice, stir gently until evenly mixed and boiling.
- Pour steamed yellow rice into a boiling coconut milk, let until the coconut milk is absorbed. Pour lime juice. Stir well.
- Steam again until cooked for about one hour. Lift, ready to be formed according to taste.
