Crispy French Fries Recipe

• 3 large potatoes
• 1 measuring spoon (tsp) of fine salt
• 1 tablespoon (tbsp) granulated sugar
• 1 tbsp cornstarch
• 2 tbsp wheat flour
• 3 white bottom cloves
• Fine salt to taste
• Water
• Cooking oil

How to Make French Fries Crispy

1. Start by preparing all the ingredients needed to make French fries. Peel the potato skin until it is completely clean, making sure there is no remaining skin left behind. After that, cut the potatoes into pieces that are not too thick and not too thin, so that the texture remains right when fried.

2. Cut the potatoes lengthwise according to your taste, but make sure the pieces are not too thin so that the potatoes don’t fall apart easily during the frying process. Do this step for all the potatoes, then set aside temporarily.

3. Prepare a container and fill it with water. Add enough salt to the water, then stir until it dissolves. Place the potato pieces in the salt solution and stir gently with your hands so that all parts of the potato are exposed to the salt solution. After that, rinse the potatoes under running water until clean.

4. Boil water in a pan, then add the crushed garlic, a little sugar and salt. Stir well until all ingredients are mixed. Put the potato pieces into the boiling water and boil for 3-5 minutes until the potatoes reach about 1/4 done.

5. After boiling, immediately remove the potatoes and drain. You can use kitchen paper to wipe the potatoes so they dry more quickly. Next, put the potatoes in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes so that they have a better texture when fried.

6. While waiting for the potatoes to cool, prepare the flour mixture by mixing cornstarch and wheat flour in one container. Stir until the two types of flour are evenly mixed.

7. Remove the potatoes from the refrigerator, then sprinkle with the flour mixture. Stir gently until all sides of the potatoes are evenly coated with flour. After that, put the potatoes coated in flour in the freezer for 1-2 hours for crispier results.

8. Once cooled, remove the potatoes from the freezer. Heat oil in a frying pan until really hot, then fry the potatoes until half cooked. Make sure there is enough oil so that the potatoes can be completely submerged. Remove the potatoes, drain and let cool for a moment.

9. Heat the oil again until very hot. Reduce the heat and fry the potatoes again until the color turns brownish yellow and feels crispy. Remove and drain the fried potatoes.

10. French fries are ready to be served and enjoyed.
