This spiced coffee can be enjoyed at the Rumah Merdeka (Rudeka) cafe, Jalan Agus Salim, Jombatan Village, Jombang District/Regency. “We provide dishes made from spices. One of them is spiced coffee,” said Rudeka cafe owner Muhammad Alfan Suri at the location, Sunday (27/9/2020).
Rudeka spiced coffee uses robusta coffee from the Dampit area, Malang Regency. This type of coffee is famous for its bitter taste. Because it tastes no less delicious. Especially if it is brewed with spices, such as ginger, cinnamon, cardamom and cloves.

How to make it is quite easy. Coffee, sugar and chopped spices are brewed with hot water in a cup. Coffee served directly to visitors without filtering. Buyers can immediately feel the fragrant aroma of real spices.

“We deliberately don’t filter the serving. So, after boiling the hot water, we continue to stir it, then we serve it to customers. So that customers can feel the sensation of spices in the glass,” explained Alfan.

The husband of Avinaya Nur (28) explained that the mixture of ginger and cardamom in spiced coffee makes the drinker’s body warm. This coffee made by Alfan is suitable to drink in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Because spices can increase the body’s endurance.
“The benefits are combined. Coffee to reduce drowsiness, ginger which increases our immunity to prevent flu and coughs. So it is suitable for the current pandemic conditions,” he explained.

The price of spiced coffee in Rudeka is apparently still friendly. Visitors only need to pay IDR 7,000 to enjoy a cup of spiced coffee.
“Most of the spiced coffee orders are men,” said Alfan.

One of them is Harun (30), a visitor to the Rudeka cafe, a resident of Kesamben District, Jombang. He likes coffee spices in this cafe because they have a warming effect on the body.
“It tastes good and makes the body warm,” he said.
