In a video circulating on social media, a mouse can be seen greedily eating a chocolate-colored gold digger cake. The cake was displayed in the shop window along with other cakes.
Seeing this video, netizens immediately criticized the shop regarding its cleanliness.
“Disgusting bakery. I don’t want to buy the bread,” commented @fend**** on Instagram.
“Even elite places have rats,” said @rian***.
“Wow, it’s not dangerous taaaa,” said @mom_****.
“The mall also needs to be paid attention to. That’s just one tenant that was caught by netizens’ cameras. What about the other tenants,” said @hard****.
“It will be difficult to restore trust again unless PIK people ignore social media,” said @ssyk****.
In response to this incident, Dough Lab management has apologized and taken steps to close its shop on PIK Avenue on 28-30 May 2024. Dough Lab also ensures that this problem will not happen again.
“We regret to inform our valued customers that our store on PIK Avenue will be temporarily closed, effective from 28 May to 30 May 2024. This decision was taken as part of our efforts to deal with the recent incident and marks our commitment to quality and hygiene of the food,” said a statement from Dough Lab shortly after the video of mice devouring the cake circulated on social media last Tuesday (28/5/2024).
The Dough Lab managers have also carried out a complete cleaning and thrown away the rest of their pastry dough.
