Using authentic Bukittinggi spices, this rendang is ready to be exported to Timor Leste

The Padang rice at this stall has a more authentic taste. The dishes are prepared using spices imported directly from Bukittinggi, West Sumatra.

Nasi Padang is so popular that Padang rice stalls have mushroomed in every region. Each one has its own uniqueness, usually depending on the area where the shop owner comes from.

Like the Padang rice stall called RM Tabik Salero which is located in the Jagakarsa area, South Jakarta. This Padang rice stall originates from the Bukittinggi area in West Sumatra.

This Padang rice stall is still relatively new. However, this stall is actually a continuation of the stall that Yetti once operated in his village. Yetti closed the shop and his children followed suit in Jakarta.

“So actually this mother has children, but because they are working, so the mother and father are the ones monitoring, coincidentally the mother has retired, so she doesn’t have any more activities, right,” said Yetti to detikFood (11/09/24).

The word ‘Tabik Salero’ itself is taken from the Minang language, which means to make your appetite more appetizing. This is in accordance with the deliciousness of the menus offered.

1. Using spices from Bukittinggi

Because she is experienced in Minang cuisine, Yetti still takes part in cooking the menus at RM Tabik Salero. Of course, use his own recipe.

“My father and I monitor and still cook using my recipes. Yes, I learned from my parents first, so it’s still me when it comes to measuring spices,” said Yetti.

Yetti can guarantee that his food is more authentic than most Padang rice stalls in Jakarta. The reason is, the spices used are imported directly from Bukittinggi.

“We bring spices such as onions, chilies and ginger directly from Bukittinggi. They are different, like ginger, in terms of color alone, Jakarta and Bukittinggi ginger are different,” said Yetti.

2. There are 15 menu choices available every day

Every day around 15 choices of side dishes are served. Starting from tunjang, lambok jerky, rendang, grilled fish, grilled chicken, pop chicken, and many more. Prices per portion start from IDR 10,000, depending on the type of side dish.

One of the side dishes that is always sought after by customers at RM Tabik Salero is rendang. The rendang is large and easy to cut through the meat fibers.

Apart from that, the spices are royal and thick. The seasoning is a dry type, so the texture of the seasoning still feels rough. It tastes delicious and delicious. Apart from that, the supporting side dishes are no less a favorite.

It is medium in size with a chewy and soft texture, and is even easy to cut using just your hands. The sauce is thick, fragrant with spices and delicious.
