Tips for Eating and Warming Pretzels to Make them More Delicious

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The texture of the pretzel may vary. Depends on the brand and country of origin of this food.

Originating from Europe, specifically Germany, pretzels are known for their chewy texture and bagel-like appearance.

The difference is, pretzels are not as hard as bagels. This knotted bread actually feels soft and crunchy when eaten while warm.

However, the texture of pretzels can change quickly. The longer you leave it at room temperature, the harder the pretzel will feel.

This was conveyed by Jessica Djie, Head of Business Unit Wetzel’s Pretzels, when met by the media at the opening of the Wetzel’s Pretzels Puri Indah Mall 2 outlet, West Jakarta, Wednesday (18/12/2024).

“Pretzels must be eaten straight away, while they are still warm. That’s why the concept of our pretzel shop is made on the spot,” said Jessica.

If you can’t eat it directly on the spot, pretzels can still be enjoyed in the next few hours.

Jessica suggests that it’s best to warm the pretzels after storing them for several hours so that the texture doesn’t harden.

“Can be warmed in microwave about 15-30 seconds until it’s warm enough, it doesn’t need to be very hot,” said Jessica.

“After that, you have to eat it straight away, don’t put it back or re-store it,” he said.

Furthermore, pretzels can be eaten with dipping sauce which is usually chocolate sauce, cream cheese or caramel to add to the enjoyment of this dish.
