Quoting Men’s Health (28/11), a urology specialist, Rena Malik, explained the correct dose for consuming mineral water daily. Dr. Rena said that myths that people believe in are often misconceptions that make people not hydrate properly.
“Drinking too little water will make the urine more concentrated. Urine that is too concentrated can cause irritation to the bladder. As a result, you will feel like you need to urinate more often and feel so rushed that you can’t hold it in,” said Dr. Rena.
Dr. Rena said that 20% of the human body consists of water, the reserves of which must be replenished every day. Water consumption can be through drinking water or foods that are high in water content.
Based on the reference journal, the Institute of Medicine, adult men are said to need 3.7 liters of water per day. Meanwhile, adult women need less water, namely around 2.7 liters. This amount of water can be met with food intake and not just drinking mineral water.

“Our body does a very good job of managing fluid reserves in the body, the body will tell us when we need to drink by giving a signal that we feel thirsty. Generally, the body will not feel thirsty unless it has lost 2% of its fluid reserves,” explained Dr. Rena.
Dr. Dr. said that the body’s water needs are not sufficient. Rena can cause quite concerning side effects. Even people who have urinary tract infections are advised to consume more water so that their urine is not too concentrated and burdens the bladder.
Even though Dr. Rena always recommends maintaining sufficient mineral water but she also warns against consuming it mineral water too many. There are side effects that are no less threatening if you drink too much water.
A body that is too hydrated or has a high water content can cause some of its organs to experience disease or decreased function. This is because too much water reserves can reduce salt levels in the body and cause a condition called hyponatremia.
