So, how much caffeine intake is recommended?

In general, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recommends that people consume no more than 400 milligrams of caffeine per day. So, consuming 1-2 shots of espresso is still within safe limits.

Caffeine intake can also be obtained from a cup of green tea with 30-50 milligrams of caffeine, diet coke (360 ml) with 46 milligrams of caffeine, and chocolate with 12 milligrams of caffeine per 30 grams.
