Jakarta

Chronic inflammation can harm the body’s condition. An easy way to relieve excessive inflammation is by consuming these 5 types of healthy tea.

Inflammation is the body’s mechanism for protecting itself from infection by foreign microorganisms, such as viruses, bacteria and fungi. When this natural process takes place, the white blood cells produced fight to form protection.

There are various triggers for chronic inflammation, starting from the presence of foreign objects that invade the immune system, physical injury, or when the immune system actually attacks the body itself, which is known as autoimmune.

Therefore, every individual needs to protect their body from excessive inflammation. Getting enough sleep, healthy eating habits, and lifestyle changes can prevent this chronic inflammation.

The foods consumed daily can also make a difference to chronic inflammation. One of the effective ones is tea. Tea contains polyphenols and various compounds in tea have anti-inflammatory properties.

Although the level of anti-inflammatory properties of each type of tea is different, nutritionist Brynne McDowell revealed that most teas have 8 times greater antioxidant power than fruit and vegetables. Thus, drinking tea is highly recommended to help reduce excessive inflammation.

Green tea is one that is widely recommended. According to McDowell, green tea contains compounds that are believed to suppress inflammation and block pro-inflammatory pathways in the body.

Inflammation has also been linked to various types of diseases, from cancer, diabetes, to heart conditions. Green tea has been shown to treat these diseases by regulating the immune system by stimulating an anti-inflammatory response.

However, McDowell recommends consulting a doctor before adding it to your daily diet.
