Liputan6.com, Liaoning – Satay is a food made from grilled meat, which is very delicious to eat with peanut sauce or other spices.
Usually, the meat that is the main ingredient for making satay is chicken, goat, beef and lamb.
However, it seems that the residents of Shengyang in Liaoning province, China, want to experience a more ‘thrilling’ sensation of eating satay.
Excerpted from Shanghaiist.comThursday (16/6/2016), a street food place in Shengyang, serves crocodile meat satay, complete with the appearance of a whole and still alive crocodile.
Two live crocodiles were placed as a display in front of the shop. If they’re lucky, buyers can also pet and hold the reptile before eating it.
The meat skewers from the sharp-toothed wild animal are sold for 20 yuan or the equivalent of IDR 41,000.
Apparently, selling crocodile meat is legal in China. In 2003, the Chinese Forestry Institute considered that crocodile reproductive technology was sufficiently developed.
Farmers are allowed to breed these vicious reptiles, as long as they have a permit.
