The story of a meatball seller from Bali whose merchandise was tasted by the Deputy Minister of UMKM

Jakarta (ANTARA) – On social media, a meatball trader from Bali looks happy because his wares are being tasted by the Deputy Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) Helvi Yuni Moraza.

In the upload, Deputy Minister of UMKM Helvi is seen enjoying the meatballs prepared by Eric Indarto, owner of Buka Baju (Cheese Meatball Eating Shack), at the MicroEX Summit UMKM event organized by the Ministry of UMKM at Discovery Mall, Bali.

Eric said he was proud because his meatballs were tasted by the Deputy Minister of UMKM.

“Of course we are very proud to have the opportunity to serve Cheese Meatballs to the Deputy Minister. Who would have thought that starting from 2013 I had no experience in making meatballs at all until I was able to serve them to the Deputy Minister,” said Eric.

Opening the shop since 2013, Eric targets the Balinese people. Eric said that he had few customers when he started the business, making him almost close his business.

Eric said that at that time his meatball mixture did not suit people’s tastes and he did not promote his products enough.

However, Eric was not discouraged. He continues to try to perfect recipes and adapt using technology.

After he was sure that Buka Baju’s meatballs could be accepted by consumers, Eric used technology to support his sales efforts on line so that the product market becomes wider.

He also does not hesitate to try new technology to support his business development.

“Finally, we adopted the GoPay Merchant and GoPay Spiker application technology. We are grateful that with both we can make our business run more efficiently,” said Eric.

Eric registered his business on the GoPay Merchant application so he could check the bookkeeping easily and use the disbursement feature of business results, which can be done at any time and transfers are free to any bank.

The combination of GoPay Merchant and GoPay Spiker has made Eric’s business grow and succeed in weathering the pandemic storm.

Buka Baju now has a mainstay menu of meatballs containing cheese and grilled meatballs.

Currently, Eric has eight Buka Baju outlets which are not only located in Bali, but also in Central Java (Solo), East Java (Surabaya), and West Nusa Tenggara (Lombok).
