The pleasure of Satai Rembiga, the pride of Lombok Island


Liputan6.com, Jakarta Lombok Island has always been one of the most memorable destinations to explore. Apart from offering natural beauty that is still clean and natural, the culinary diversity and deliciousness is always interesting.

One of the culinary snacks that Good Indonesian Food (GIF) visited was Sate Rembiga Ibu Sinnaseh which is located on Jalan Dr Wahidin in the Rembiga area, Mataram City. Founded in the early 1990s, this place is famous for its satai rembiga among local residents and tourists. This restaurant also has branches in the Cakranegara area.

Around 07.00 at night this place looks almost full. The front of the restaurant is used to prepare satai. After queuing first at the counter to order, in five minutes the satai order will be ready to be delivered to the diners’ table.

What’s unique is that this satai is served plain without peanut sauce or soy sauce. The sweet taste with a slight spicy taste from the grilled meat is very pronounced. The more you chew, the more spicy the taste becomes. Maybe it doesn’t taste as spicy as other typical Lombok foods, but the combination of sweet and spicy flavors gives it a unique and perfect taste.

As one of the most popular culinary destinations on Lombok Island, Mrs. Sinnaseh, the owner of this restaurant plans to move this restaurant to a newer and larger building, not far from its current location.
