The Most Searched Healthy Foods and Drinks on Tokopedia in 2022

Jakarta

Until now, various contemporary healthy food products are still things that are sought after by many people. Celebrating National Nutrition Day which falls on January 25 2023, Tokopedia lists various healthy foods and drinks (Makmin) ranging from lemon juice, seeds and various other foods which are best-selling products on the market.

“Lemon juice, seeds such as chia, granola, honey and cereals are some of the best-selling healthy foods on Tokopedia throughout 2022,” said Head of External Communications Tokopedia, Ekhel Chandra Wijaya in a written statement, Thursday (26/1/2023) .

Ekhel said that in supporting business activists, especially MSMEs, in marketing healthy food and drink products throughout Indonesia, his party is carrying out the Tokopedia Nyam! Apart from that, one of the features of the Hyperlocal Initiative also continues to be intensified.

According to Ekhel, this step was taken to make it easier for sellers, including the food and beverage industry, to reach buyers throughout Indonesia.

“An example of this manifestation is the Selected Shop Collection (KTP) to help MSMEs expand their market reach in the city and surrounding areas. Apart from that, there is Tokopedia service so that MSMEs can reach buyers outside the city,” explained Ekhel.

“There is also a Share Address feature which allows people to send hampers, including healthy mothers’ hampers, more easily via the Tokopedia application so there is no need to enter the destination address manually,” he continued.

Due to this initiative, Tokopedia also noted that the areas of Kampar (Riau), Pringsewu (Lampung), Tabanan (Bali), Dumai (Riau) and Buleleng (Bali) were the regions with the highest increase in the number of healthy makmin transactions.

On the other hand, the regions with the highest increase in healthy food and beverage sellers are Kotawaringin (Central Kalimantan), East Lampung (Lampung), Indragiri Hulu (Riau), Bukittinggi (West Sumatra) and Musi Banyuasin (Sumsel). Meanwhile, Bengkalis (Riau), Central Lampung (Lampung), Demak (Central Java), Kubu Raya (Kalbar) and Buleleng (Bali) experienced the highest surge in buyers of healthy mothers in 2022.

According to Tokopedia’s records, Loka Padang (Jakarta) and Rumah Mocaf (Banjarnegara) are increasingly healthy local MSMEs that continue to support the fulfillment of national nutrition and public health security.

Loka Padang seller, Iren Umar innovates by creating various Indonesian specialty dishes made from vegetable ingredients. He admitted that sales of his products had doubled since joining Tokopedia.

“We collaborate with internal nutritionists to ensure that all Loka Padang food remains healthy and nutritious by not using MSG, flavourings, colorings and preservatives,” explained Iren.

On the other hand, Rumah Mocaf seller, Riza Azyumarridha Azra, has collaborated with hundreds of cassava farmers to make gluten-free modified cassava flour (mocaf) which is processed into various healthier foods. For example, noodles, cookies and many more.

“Thanks to Tokopedia, Rumah Mocaf products marketed under the Mocafine brand can be known to more people, and the number of store transactions could even increase 25-fold in 2022,” said Riza.

Meanwhile, together with the nutritionist, dr. Juwalita Surapsari, M.Gizi, Sp.GK, Tokopedia shares three easy tips for implementing a balanced nutritional pattern.

1. Prioritize local food sources

“First take advantage of food sources that are around us and easy to find every day. For example, there are many sources of carbohydrates that are easy to find in Indonesia besides rice, for example tubers or foods made from cassava,” explained Dr. Juwalita.

Examples of local food sources that can be utilized by the community are gluten-free modified cassava flour (mocaf) carried by Rumah Mocaf and typical Indonesian vegan food by Loka Padang.

2. Adjust food sources with balanced nutrition criteria

“To ensure a more balanced diet, pay attention to fiber intake, especially from vegetables and fruit. Limit sugar, salt and oil, and diligently monitor your weight. Make sure you consume food in balanced levels, namely sources of energy, side dishes, vegetables and fruit,” he added. Dr. Juwalita.

3. Increase animal or vegetable protein

According to the Indonesian Ministry of Health, the standard protein adequacy rate for Indonesian people is 60 grams per day for women and 65 grams per day for men.

“Protein is needed by the body to replace damaged cells. Indonesia is famous for its sources of vegetable protein, starting from tofu, tempeh, nuts and others,” said Dr. Juwalita.
