Malang Raya (ANTARA) – Meatballs are synonymous with Malang City. It is not uncommon for this food with the characteristics of ball-shaped meat and sauce to be sought after by tourists when visiting the area nicknamed Bumi Arema.
Meatball stalls in Malang City are a common sight, scattered everywhere. There are also traders who sell in rombong or stand on the side of the road as well as street vendors or PK5.
Ball-shaped food in Malang City has various variants, some of which are sold like meatballs in general, namely doused with beef broth, grilled, and have various fillings, from cheese, quail eggs, to chili.
In this area, one of the meatballs that has a mouth-watering taste is Cak So, located behind the Malang City Hall Building.
The trading concept is different, namely with a buffet or buyers are given the freedom to take items what you want, starting from smooth and rough pentol, fried foods, tofu, dumplings, and white or yellow noodles.
Regarding taste, Cak So’s meatballs, which have been open since 1998, have a savory sauce, the texture of the meatballs is rich and dominated by beef. The fried dumplings are also delicious.
Then the price is also cheap, for a rough bulb Rp. 3,000, pentol all right or fine Rp. 3,000, then fried food, tofu, white or yellow noodles all Rp. 1,000 and dumplings Rp. 2,000.
If they are not full enough, buyers can add lontong which also costs only IDR 1,000.
One customer, Nanda Kurniawan, stated that the buffet concept implemented was different from other meatball outlets.
“It’s different because we, the buyers, can choose for ourselves, whereas in other orders we are asked what the contents are and here we ourselves decide,” he said.
He said that the Cak So meatballs are rich in taste, from the sauce to the meatballs which are dominated by beef.
“The fritters and tofu are also delicious, the dumplings are soft too. If the price is because you take it yourself, we can determine how much it will last and according to each person’s portion size so it doesn’t go to waste,” he said.
