The culinary delights of Bakar Cobek Noodles in Padang
PADANG – If you are looking for a different culinary delight from ordinary chicken noodles, Mi Bakar Cobek could be an appetizing choice. Noodles grilled on a mortar with green chilies are a mainstay menu at a food stall in Padang City, West Sumatra.
Apart from Mi Bakar Cobek, this food stall also serves other menus, such as Iga Bakar Cobek and Sotong Bakar Cobek Green Lado.
For fans of spicy food, no need to worry. At this place, there are three types of chili mixture to choose from, namely Lado (green chilies), red chilies, and a mixture of green and red chilies, according to individual tastes.
The cooking process is also witnessed directly by visitors, so apart from enjoying the deliciousness, visitors can also ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the food ingredients used.
The process of making Bakar Cobek Noodles is fairly simple. The spices from lado or green and red chilies are burned on a mortar until they give off a distinctive aroma. Then, these spices are stirred with noodles which are given toppings such as fried shallots, shredded chicken, wonton crackers and meatballs.
