Tasting Upper Clift’s New Menu in Sentul Bogor, There’s Fried Duck Rice and Mixed Rice


KOMPAS.com – Dining in a restaurant with a mountain view seems to be the right choice for those who want to spend time with their partner or family.

In Sentul, Bogor, one of the popular places to visit is The Upper Clift Resort & Cafe.

The location is on Jalan Raya Bojong Koneng, Sentul, Babakan Madang District, Bogor Regency, West Java.

Kompas.com had the opportunity to stop by the location on Tuesday (15/10/2024) and taste the two newest menus there, what was it like?

That afternoon the two dishes were served with a similar arrangement, there was white rice shaped into a cone, as well as fresh vegetables in the form of lettuce, cucumber and sliced ​​tomatoes.

The first dish that Kompas.com tasted was Cassava Leaf Fried Duck Rice. The fried duck served looked crispy, cooked brown in color with a smear of chili sauce on top making it taste crispy when bitten.

As expected, the outside of the fried duck was crispy, and the meat inside was soft. It’s not tough when bitten, and is quite easy to cut using a spoon.

Said the Executive Chef of Upper Clift, Oki Rakhmat, the duck used here is local duck meat, cooked by steaming, then frying.

“The duck is marinated for one day, to reduce the fishy smell, the spices are more absorbed, the steaming method is like making pepes,” said Oki when met at the location. Tuesday (15/10/22024).

Even though the outside of the duck is black, the taste is not bitter. On the side, it also comes with cassava leaves and anchovies, as well as sambal matah and onion chili sauce.

Some of the side dishes served here are white rice, sate lilit, anchovies, plecing satay, shredded palalah chicken, vegetable ointment, and sambal matah.

The dish that is quite unique here is satay lilit, because the meat used is not only chicken, but also mixed with fish. It tastes delicious and delicious eaten with chili sauce.

Moving on to the shredded palalah chicken, the seasoning on the shredded chicken is not too strong. Therefore, for those who like side dishes with strong spices, it seems like you can mix chicken meat with chili sauce.

Then, the peanut anchovies served here are similar to the peanut anchovies in the Cassava Leaf Fried Duck Rice variant.

After eating the main side dish, the perfect lunch activity is closed with a Caramel Machiato Frappucino or Passion Fruit Juice. However, if you like sweeter drinks, you can try the Cookies Cream Frappe.

The prices of food and drinks at this cafe are quite varied, on average starting from IDR 32,000 per portion. If you want to visit, it’s best to come on a weekday, because weekends will be busy with visitors.
