After tasting the rice soup, detikBali also tried empal meat at the restaurant. The empal meat from the female cow is cut into cubes like rawon rice. It’s just that the size of the beef is a little bigger.

What’s special is that the sweet taste of empal meat is quite prominent. Raditya said the empal meat was cooked with a mixture of palm sugar as the main spice. According to him, the texture of female beef is more muscular than male beef.

“Because the main ingredient is palm sugar. The majority of it is palm sugar. So, it’s definitely wet and sweet,” he said.

detikBali then try tasting empal meat with home-cooked chili sauce. The orange chili sauce makes the taste of Magersari empal rice soup even hotter on the tongue.

“I also make the chili sauce myself. We only use chilies, onions and tomatoes. We don’t use any mixture. That’s why, just a little bit is spicy,” he explained.

Apart from empal rice soup, the Magersari stall also serves offal. Starting from the brain, marrow and lungs. Raditya said that all the menu items were fried with eggs and garlic without a mixture of sugar. So, the taste is delicious.

The empal rice soup menu at the Magersari food stall is priced starting at IDR 35 thousand. Visitors can also order just the beef empal for IDR 25 thousand. Then other menus such as fried brain, fried marrow and fried lung are priced from IDR 15 thousand to IDR 20 thousand.
