KOMPAS.com – Ny.Lauw’s Dodol & Cake production house is a legendary dodol and basket cake producer in Tangerang. It’s been more than half a century, Mrs. Lauw is still around, especially ahead of Chinese New Year.
Kompas.com had the opportunity to stop by Ny.Lauw’s Dodol & Cake production kitchen on Friday (17/1/2025) to see the cake making process. Starting from raw material preparation, control in the kitchen, packaging, until the product is ready to be packaged and sold.

“Ahead of the Chinese New Year, the most sought after are basket cakes and dodol,” said the owner and manager of the Dodol & Cake production house Ny. The third generation Lauw (LKW) was named Iin when Kompas.com met him in Tangerang, Banten, Friday (17/1/2025).
Especially ahead of the Chinese New Year, he added, production quantities are higher than usual. Including workers involved in making basket cakes and dodol in the production kitchen.
