Sweet Oat Porridge Recipe, Add Banana and Pandan Leaves


KOMPAS.com – If you like eating oat porridge, the combination of oats, bananas and milk may sound familiar. This time try adding other ingredients so that the results are different.

This recipe uses horn bananas whose flesh is known to be thicker and denser so it doesn’t get soft when cooked.

The following is a recipe for sweet oat porridge with banana that you can try from the book “25 Oats Breakfast Recipes & Menus for Children” the work of Fajar Ayuningsih (2010) published by PT Gramedia Pustaka Utama.

Material:

  • 600 milliliters of water
  • 100 grams brown sugar (comb)
  • 50 grams of granulated sugar
  • 2 pandan leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 200 milliliters of milk or coconut milk
  • 2 bananas (peeled, cut into diagonal pieces)
  • 100 grams of quick cooking oats
  1. Syrup. Pour water into the pan to boil. Add brown sugar, granulated sugar, pandan leaves and salt. Heat until boiling. Remove, then strain.
  2. Pour the cooked syrup back into the pan, cook until it boils. Pour in milk or coconut milk and add bananas, cook until bananas are cooked.
  3. Add the oats, stir and cook until the porridge thickens. Lift, serve.
