“We are quite appreciative about food from non-Muslims. “Because you cannot force your will, its nature is an appeal and a statement of attitude,” said DSKS Public Relations Endro Sudarsono, Thursday (4/7/2024).
The Non-Halal Culinary Festival was held again after stopping due to protests by the Surakarta City Sharia Council (DSKS). “People are worried because it’s too vulgar,” said Endro.
The Non-Halal Culinary Festival runs until July 7 2024 and is open to the public. Observing the field, many visitors came to the festival. On the right and left sides the location can be seen covered with black cloth.
Meanwhile, at the entrance, security officers were seen standing guard. “It’s progressing,” said the festival’s event organizer (EO), Ken.
Ken is happy that non-halal festival events can continue. Even though there was an agreement starting from removing the banner which was considered too vulgar and installing coverings in each tenant.
“So the request was for a cloth around it to cover it. OK, we will follow, basically we will follow the request. “We are grateful that the event can run again,” he said.
