JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Yakult supports free nutritional eating (MBG) in Indonesia through introduction Shokuiku, Balanced eating patterns in the style of Japanese people.
The Japanese fermented milk drink company presents nutrition experts from the Department of Nutrition and Life Science Kanagawa Institute of Technology, as well as the practitioner who attended Kyushoku (Learning Lunch at School) in Japan, Naomi Aiba.

Shokuiku Or balanced and intuitive eating patterns in Japan, especially in schools, rooted in the 2005 Food Education Constitution.
School students get food nutritional knowledge through teachers and nutritionists, also taught healthy diet, as well as prevention of food waste.
Initiative Shokuiku In school children are delivered through interesting education in the form of illustrations and cheerful songs that can be absorbed by elementary and junior high school children.

“Nutritionists in Japanese schools are teachers who already have a nutritionist license and are appointed by the Board of Education in Prefecture, then recruited and assigned to school,” Naomi said.
As for Indonesia, the MBG program began to be held since early January 2025. Unlike the gradual lunch program in Japan, Indonesia plans to hold MBG simultaneously in all provinces.
Food Technology Expert Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Made Astawan, explained, Indonesia has a diversity of food for MBG staples.

Furthermore, Kawaguchi expressed his hopes of working with the government in the procurement of fermented milk in the MBG program.
“Our hope is that children who enjoy MBG, can also drink yakult because it is healthy. We will try to build communication with the government regarding this matter,” concluded Kawaguchi.
