Soft and Crispy Fried Tapai Recipe with a Touch of Chocolate

With simple ingredients and easy steps, anyone can make it themselves in the kitchen, according to the book “Various Cake and Bread Recipes” (2013) by Aryuni Dianning Wati published by MediaPressindo.

Fried Tapai Recipe

Material

  • 500 grams of soft cassava tapai
  • 50 grams of wheat flour
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla
  • Sufficient cooking oil

Spread

  • 100 grams dark cooking chocolate
  • 70 grams of jam (according to taste)
  • 100 grams roasted peanuts, coarsely chopped

How to Make Fried Tapai

  1. Puree the tapai, mix with flour, eggs and vanilla. Stir until smooth, then shape into a ball the size of a ping pong ball.
  2. Heat cooking oil in a frying pan, fry the tapai balls until golden yellow and cooked. Remove and drain to remove remaining oil.
  3. Melt the dark cooking chocolate until it is completely melted. Dip half of the fried tapai balls into the melted chocolate, leaving the other half yellow.
  4. While the chocolate layer is still wet, roll the tapai balls in roughly chopped roasted peanuts until the chocolate is completely covered.
  5. Spread the part not exposed to chocolate with jam according to taste. Serve fried tapai with a tempting appearance and special taste.
