Simple secrets to making delicious coffee at home

Jakarta (ANTARA) – Making your own cup of coffee at home, in the office, or wherever, can be a satisfying experience, especially when you know some of the secrets to getting the perfect taste.

In the process, simple little details, such as brewing techniques, can make a big difference in the quality of the coffee drink produced, as said by PT Langgeng Makmur Kencana (LMK) Barista Trainer Arie Nugroho.

“Now there are many different methods of brewing coffee, one of which is making simple brewed coffee, but there is one secret to making your own coffee that is often overlooked, namely waiting for the coffee to brew for about 4 minutes before enjoying it,” he said during a visit to the ANTARA Heritage Center, in Jakarta, Wednesday (9/10).

This barista trainer, who has been in the world of coffee for more than 20 years, said that freshly brewed brewed coffee should be waited for about four minutes before drinking, because this process allows the taste and aroma of the coffee to develop optimally.

When coffee is brewed, high temperatures can cause excessive bitterness and disrupt the balance of taste.

By waiting a moment, the coffee particles can settle, giving time for more subtle and complex flavors to emerge.

In addition, the temperature of the coffee also decreases slightly, so coffee lovers can enjoy the warmth without the risk of burning their tongue.

Thus, waiting a few minutes before sipping brewed coffee not only enhances the drinking experience, but also allows you to experience every nuance of the flavor it has to offer.

“Coffee needs time to be extracted or cooked, so usually when drinking coffee it is better to wait about 4 minutes so that the hot water has really extracted the coffee, this makes the taste more intense and the aroma of the coffee more pronounced,” said Arie, who also worked for Accor Group.
