Simple Mochi Recipe The contents of strawberry jam, sweet snacks for Chinese New Year 2025


KOMPAS.com – Mochi is known as a typical Japanese snack that has now been widely modified according to local tastes, including in Indonesia.

One of the popular variants is mochi with strawberry jam. Its chewy texture and sweet taste makes this mochi suitable to be enjoyed with family during the 2025 Chinese New Year.

The following is a simple Mochi recipe, reported from the book “Mochi Cake for Selling” Kitchen Kitchen Aliza published by PT Gramedia Pustaka Utama via Kompas.comSunday (6/18/2023).

Simple Mochi Recipe Fill Strawberry Jam

Material:

  • 400 grams of sticky rice flour
  • 700 milliliters of water
  • 100 milliliters of coconut milk from 1/2 coconut
  • 1/8 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 drops of strawberry pasta
  • 75 grams of corn flour or corn flour (roasted, for sprinkling)
  • 100 grams of strawberry jam

How to make a simple mochi strawberry jam contents

  1. Mix sticky rice flour and water in a large bowl, then stir until well blended. Knead the dough until smooth.
  2. Strain the sticky rice flour mixture using a clean napkin. Squeeze to produce about 600 milliliters of juice (100 milliliters will be absorbed by flour).
  3. Pour the coconut milk little by little into the dough, while continuing to be kneaded. Add strawberry paste, stir until smooth.
  4. Move the dough to the heat -resistant pan. Steam for 30 minutes until cooked. Once cooked, remove from heat and cool.
  5. Take one teaspoon of the dough, flatten it, and place a little strawberry jam in the middle. Cover the dough and round.
  6. Roll the mochi that has been formed into the roasted cornstarch so it is not sticky.
  7. If there is, use a strawberry -shaped mold for a more attractive appearance. Sprinkle the mold with cornstarch, press the dough to form a mold, then release slowly. Serve.
