Reduces the risk of depression

The folate in asparagus helps prevent the buildup of homocysteine, an amino acid that can block nutrients and blood from reaching the brain.

A buildup of homocysteine can also interfere with the production of the hormones serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine, which play a role in regulating mood, sleep, and appetite.

Improves heart health

Asparagus contains fiber, potassium and antioxidants which can support heart health. Fiber helps lower blood pressure and bad cholesterol.
