KOMPAS.com – Usually, sekoteng is sold at night when the temperature starts to feel cold, especially after it rains.
This warm drink consists of a mixture of pearl seeds, palm fruit, green beans, and plain bread.
Wedang sekoteng tastes light, while the filling ingredients have various textures, from soft to slightly hard.

Contents:
- 50 gr pomegranate seeds or pearls, boiled, pour cold water, drain
- 30 fruit palm fruit, thinly sliced, boiled with 1 pandan leaf for about 15 minutes, drained
- 2 slices white bread, cut into 1 cm cubes
- 50 gr peeled peanuts, fried
- 100 gr green beans, boiled
Ginger Syrup:
- 1 liter of water
- 150 gr ginger, peeled, bruised
- 2 stalks lemongrass, bruised
- 2 pandan leaves, torn into knots
- 175 gr granulated sugar or 200 gr brown sugar
1. Make ginger syrup by boiling all the ingredients over low heat until it tastes delicious. Remove and strain.
2. Serve each ingredient in the amount according to taste, put it in a concave bowl. Pour hot ginger syrup, serve immediately.
