Liputan6.com, Jakarta Of the myriad of restaurants and stalls that fill Jakarta, only a few have managed to survive for several generations and achieve the title of legendary. One of them is HM Sadjim’s Tegal Sate, which first opened in 1970. In the past, HM Sadjim pushed his wooden goat satai cart around the Bendungan Hilir area.
After 24 years, around 2000, using income from his business, he opened a permanent place which was finally purchased in his name six years later. Two other branches were also opened, and run by his children.
Located on Jalan Danau Tondano in Bendungan Hilir, its strategic position, at the end of a road intersection, makes it easy to see by anyone passing through the area. If you want to enjoy food in a quiet and not crowded situation, you can visit on weekends because this place is very busy on weekdays, especially at lunch time. To meet the needs of his customers, HM Sadjim usually cooks up to five goats every day.
The restaurant looks unkempt with several fans on the ceiling, the place feels a bit hot. With the grill located right in front of the restaurant, the aroma of grilled meat can be smelled from where you sit.
In just five minutes, your order of goat satai will be served, complete with soy sauce and sliced fresh shallots. You can’t smell the typical aroma that usually comes from goat meat, so you can enjoy it without worrying about nausea. The texture is also soft and gives off a delicious broth taste.
