Samsara Latte Art Competition 2024: Celebrating Extraordinary Barista Talent in Ubud

GIANYAR, BALIPOST.com – Samsara Ubud, in collaboration with the Indonesian Barista Association (IBA) held the Samsara Latte Art Competition, Saturday (31/8). The event, which was held at Samsara Ubud, was attended by 32 talented baristas from various schools, coffee shops and hotels in this area.

The competition, hosted by I Nyoman Suweca, Chair of IBA, featured a panel of prominent judges, namely Adinda Agustina (Expat Roaster Trainer), I Putu Gede Widiastra (Owner of Painting Coffee), and Ngurah Gede Jaya Merta (Owner of Jaya Coffee). Participants show off their incredible latte art skills through three intense rounds, with each round getting more challenging.

After hours of tense competition, I Gede Yuda Mahendra from PARQ Ubud emerged as the grand champion, followed by I Made Alya Dwi Prayana from Uma Ceking Resto in second place, Putu Windu Febri Arta in third place, and Anak Agung Gede Krisna Putra won honorable mention. The winners were awarded trophies, cash prizes and certificates in recognition of their outstanding achievements.

“We are very pleased with the extraordinary success of the Samsara Latte Art Competition,” said I Putu Kumara Arta, Assistant Food and Beverage Manager at Samsara Ubud.

He said this event was a testament to the extraordinary talent of local baristas and a celebration of Ubud’s vibrant coffee culture. “We hope to continue holding similar events in the future to support and foster the growth of our barista community,” he hoped.

The Samsara Latte Art Competition serves as a platform for baristas to improve their skills and network with industry peers. It also highlights the growing popularity of specialty coffee and latte art in Bali. (Adv/balipost)
