Yogurt is known as healthy food. Recent research says that regularly eating yogurt can reduce the risk of colon cancer.
Yogurt is the result of fermented milk that contains good bacteria that is very good for the health of the large intestine. But it is necessary to pay attention to the portion and choice of yogurt consumed.
In the Journal of Gut Microbes, researchers write that regularly consuming yogurt by two or more servings a week can reduce the risk of collectal cancer, especially proximal colorectal cancer.

Proximal colorectal cancer occurs on the right side of the large intestine. This type of cancer is more dangerous than distal colorectal cancer on the left side.
The researchers netted information from two long-term studies that saw eating habits in more than 150 thousand people in the 1970s to the 1980s. Of the many data, researchers retrieve data from 132 thousand participants.
After conducting an analysis, they found among people who suffer from colon cancer, as many as 31 percent of positive cases of Bifidobacterium. Then associated with the consumption of two servings per week, the risk of colorectal cancer associated with positive bifidobacterium is 20 percent lower.
