Klungkung –
There is one representative culinary place in Klungkung, Bali, namely in Block E of the Semarapura Tourism Thematic Market. This place is already striking with the trappings of a luxury restaurant. The design of the dining area is also made aesthetic.
Despite its luxurious appearance, food prices in Block E of the Semarapura Tourism Thematic Market are very affordable. One of the typical Klungkung culinary delights available is serombotan.
Serombotan consists of various boiled vegetables drizzled with peanut sauce and roasted coconut seasoning. Usually, this serombotan is mixed with rice or ketupat which is often called tipat serombotan.
detikers don’t need to dig deep into their pockets for culinary delights in Block E of the Semarapura Tourism Thematic Market. Prices for tipat serombotan alone start from IDR 7 thousand to IDR 15 thousand per portion.
Apart from that, there are also various other menus available, such as Balinese mixed rice, suckling pig, chicken noodles, meatballs, Balinese snacks, and fast food such as fried potatoes and sausages. Not just drinks, there are also various drink choices available, from beer rujak to mixed ice.
One of the Serombotan tipat sellers, Ni Ketut Ani, said her stall is open every day, except on religious holidays. Apart from serombotan, he also sells tipat cantok, tofu and rujak.
“The price is still the old price because you only pay a fee of IDR 4,500 per stall every day. For a complete tipat serombotan with boiled egg the price is IDR 10 thousand, the plain one without egg is IDR 7 thousand,” he explained.
According to Ani, the Semarapura Tourism Thematic Market opens at 05.00 WITA. However, new culinary delights can be served from 08.00 WITA to 16.00 WITA.
“Some open at 08.00, some are later, and close according to the market schedule at 16.00 WITA. However, it can be earlier if the merchandise has run out,” he told detikBaliSunday (21/7/2024) afternoon.
One of the buyers, Ni Putu Novianti, deliberately came all the way from Denpasar to eat at this place. Noviani admits that she is comfortable eating food in Block E of the Semarapura Tourism Thematic Market.
“The place is spacious, clean and comfortable. Lots of food is available, but I came here to look for special food while looking at the fabric in Block B,” he said.
Novi only spent IDR 20 thousand on a culinary tour in Block E of the Semarapura Tourism Thematic Market. He bought a straw complete with mixed ice.
“Just waiting for it to be wrapped as a souvenir,” he said.
Head of the Klungkung SME, Industry and Trade Cooperatives Service, Wayan Ardiasa, said that this culinary location was deliberately built on the second floor. The location is next to Block B.
“The aim is that after visitors buy cloth in Block B or Block A, they can continue by enjoying the culinary delights that are complete and friendly for foreign and domestic tourists,” he said.
For information, the construction of the Semarapura Thematic Tourism Market will cost IDR 64.7 billion, funded by the Ministry of Trade’s Special Allocation Fund (DAK) in 2023.
