TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA – Malaysian Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin became the first guest of the honor of the state to come to Indonesia in 2021.
Muhyiddin arrived at the Presidential Palace on Friday (5/2) at around 10:30 WIB.
The arrival of Muhyiddin was accompanied by a marching band from the Monas area.
Once arrived, Muhyiddin, who was riding a black sedan with Malayasia 1 number, was welcomed with various Indonesian arts.
Muhyiddin’s visit was the first visit since he served as Prime Minister in March 2020.
President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) welcomed Muhyiddin’s arrival directly near the door of his vehicle.
The President immediately invited Muhyiddin to follow the welcoming state begins by echoing the national anthem from each country.

Then Muhyiddin signed a guest book in the credential room and continued with a photo session.
The President and PM Malaysia discussed the handling of COVID-19 and bilateral relations between Malaysia and Indonesia.
The two leaders also performed Friday prayers at the Baiturrahim Mosque in the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta.

In welcoming the Malaysian PM State visit, Jokowi was accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, and Minister of State Secretary Pratikno. While Muhyiddin was accompanied by Foreign Minister Hishammudin Hussein, along with other delegations from the Malaysian Foreign Ministry.
Head of Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono said that the welcoming of the Malaysian Prime Minister implemented a strict health protocol, including in a dinner of lunch.
There are no servants who will serve the two leaders of the country.
Both Jokowi and PM Muhyiddin independently eat the food that has been served.
“All who do this lunch will be independent. No one serves. Everything has been presented at the dining table and all of them are sterilizing,” Heru said.

The forks, spoon, and plates will be prepared at the heating site.
“Later each will take the typical conditions at the time of the health protocol,” he said.
In a lunch fender, his party provides a number of Indonesian special foods.
The main menu served is typical Indonesian rendang.
He hopes that the menu and banquet of lunch will be an impression for PM Malaysia.
“Surely the request menus from him, among others, what is the name of Indonesian rendang and of course must also be enjoyed by state guests. Hopefully this can get what is called something that is not forgotten, something memorable and other menus that are all nuanced hot, warm,” he said. In addition to the rendang menu is served in the lunch banquet, namely Soto Padang, Yumbuk Sweet Payer Curry, Kalio Chicken, Batokok Jerky, and Grouper Curry.

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Malaysian Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin agreed to assign the Minister of Foreign Affairs of each country to speak with the ASEAN chair to hold a meeting between the Foreign Minister discussing the coup in Myanmar.

Meanwhile on the same occasion the Malaysian PM said that his party also looked seriously in the political conditions that occurred in Myanmar.
According to him the coup that occurred was a setback of democracy in Myanmar.
Therefore he agreed to send the Foreign Minister to explore meetings between Foreign Ministers throughout ASEAN.
“This, I am very agreed with reserves so that the two foreign ministers are given a mandate to find an agreement so that a typical ASEAN community is held to discuss this case more deeply,” Muhyiddin said in Malay.
The meeting was also discussed about the fate of Indonesian migrant workers.
“I expressed his appreciation for the cooperation of the protection of Indonesian citizens in Malaysia, especially during Pandemi and I re -entrusted Indonesian citizens in Malaysia to the Malaysian government,” President Jokowi said.
The President encourages a memorandum of understanding or a new MoU regarding the protection of PMI Indonesia.
“Regarding the protection of Indonesian migrant workers, I emphasize the importance of completion, making MoU, new MoU regarding the placement and protection of Indonesian domestic workers in Malaysia,” he said.
Not only that, the President also encouraged the designing of the One Channel System in the placement of Indonesian workers in Malaysia.

“One channel system so that the problem of labor placement can be done better to prevent workers from becoming victims of human trafficking,” he concluded.

PM Muhyiddin asked Jokowi to order Indonesian representatives in Malaysia to socialize the Amnesty program for illegal workers.
He also asked Jokowi to ensure Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) who came to Malaysia through a legal path.
“I have requested the President as a representative of Indonesia in Malaysia to reflect on the recalibration or bleaching program or amnesty for them to go home there is a labor recalibration program so that the June June. Has also requested cooperation from the President to ensure that Indonesian citizens who want to come to work in Malaysia enter Malaysia through legitimate channels,” Muhyiddin said.
Regarding the discrimination of palm oil, Muhyiddin asserted, Malaysia is on the same path as Indonesia.
