KOMPAS.com – Wedang uwuh is often found in the Yogyakarta and Solo areas, uwuh itself means rubbish because the filling of wedang uwuh is similar to rubbish from leaves and root rhizomes.
Wedang uwuh is made from dried secang wood, rock sugar, ginger, dried cinnamon leaves, dried clove leaves, dried nutmeg leaves and cloves.
Wedang uwuh is suitable to drink during the rainy season to warm the body, see the recipe below.

Material:
- Dry secang wood 40 grams
- Rock sugar or granulated sugar 50 grams
- Ginger 6 cm
- 2 dry cinnamon leaves
- 3 dry clove leaves
- 3 clove nutmeg leaves
- 10 cloves or dried clove stems
- Water 700 ml

1. Wash the ginger, burn it, then bruise it.
2. Boil water in a pan. Add ginger, cloves or clove stems, clove leaves, cinnamon leaves, nutmeg leaves, secang wood shavings, and rock sugar.
3. Cook over medium heat until it boils. Remove and strain.
