Quick and Easy Way to Peel Ginger Without a Knife

Usually before consumption, ginger must be peeled first. Unfortunately, the process of peeling ginger is often a challenge because the skin is uneven.

If it is not done correctly, a lot of ginger flesh that should be used will actually be wasted, making it a waste.

Easy way to peel ginger

To avoid this, here are some quick and easy ways to peel ginger without any hassle:

1. Freeze in the freezer

After buying fresh ginger, clean it first and store it inside freezer. Apart from making the ginger last longer, freezing also makes the peeling process easier.

According to The Spruce Eats, frozen ginger has skin that is firmer and less puckered, making it easier to peel. When ready to use, remove the ginger from the freezer and peel it in your preferred way.

2. Use a spoon to peel

If you usually peel ginger with a knife, try replacing it with a spoon. This method is safer and reduces the possibility of wasting ginger flesh.

The process is quite easy. Use the tip of a spoon to scrape the ginger skin with firm movements from top to bottom.

Make sure all skin and dirt are removed. For small ginger, use a teaspoon to make it easier to reach the rhizome folds.
