Provincial Plenary, NTT Bawaslu Finds Difference in Number of Ballot Papers

Kupang

The General Election Commission (KPU) of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) has held a plenary recapitulation of the votes for the NTT Governor Election (Pilgub) on Saturday (7/12/2024). However, Bawaslu NTT found a difference in the number of ballot papers at the TPS.

NTT Bawaslu member, Coordinator of the Prevention, Community Participation and Public Relations Division, Amrur Darwan, said that the first day of plenary was held for 13 districts/cities throughout NTT. From the plenary results, it was found that there were advantages and disadvantages to the ballot papers when the voting took place on November 27 2024.

“Of the 13 districts, minus Central Sumba (there are no advantages or disadvantages of ballot papers),” said Amrur after the plenary session at the NTT KPU, Saturday (7/12/2024) evening.

He explained that one example occurred in Kupang Regency. In Kupang Regency, a shortage of 100 ballot papers was found at several polling stations. According to him, according to regulations, the number of ballot papers corresponds to the DPT plus 2.5 percent of the ballot papers. However, what was actually received by KPPS at the TPS contained differences.

“We also have to ensure that the advantages or disadvantages are recorded in the minutes. We also monitor this. Why can there be differences, whether it is less or more differences received by PPS friends,” he explained.

Amrur said that the differences that occurred could be caused by human error or technical errors in the field resulting in differences. “It is possible that during the sorting it was folded by KPU friends. Even though it had been calculated, technically in the field when it was received by KPPS friends, it turned out there was a difference. The difference occurred during distribution from the KPU to TPS,” he concluded.

For your information, the plenary recapitulation of votes for the NTT gubernatorial election by the NTT KPU has only completed 13 districts/cities throughout NTT. This means there are still 8 more districts/cities.

The following districts have completed the recapitulation at the NTT Province level:
