Jakarta (ANTARA) – Who doesn’t like boba? This sweet drink equipped with chewy balls offers a unique experience when mixed with other sweet drinks.
Boba has stolen the attention of many people around the world and is a favorite among various groups, from children to adults.
Boba drinks first appeared in Taiwan in the 1980s and are now famous throughout the world, including Indonesia. The sweet taste is the main attraction that makes many people addicted to it.
Until now, boba drinks have become part of a popular lifestyle in Indonesia with many cafes and beverage outlets making various boba variants.
It’s not surprising that many people want to try making their own boba at home in a simple way so they can enjoy this drink at any time without having to go to a cafe or boba shop.
Here are the recipes and ways to make boba at home.
Material:
• 1 pack of chocolate nutrijel
• 10 tablespoons tapioca flour
• 5 tbsp brown sugar
• 200 ml plain water
• 250 ml cold water (to cool cooked boba)
How to make boba
1. Put the tapioca flour and chocolate nutrijel into a container, then stir until evenly mixed.
2. Boil enough water. Pour the water little by little into the flour mixture, while continuing to stir until it forms a dough that can be kneaded. Once it is not too hot, knead the dough for a few minutes until soft.
3. Take some dough, roll it out long, then cut into pieces about 1 cm in size. Round each piece until all the dough is used, and sprinkle with tapioca flour so they don’t stick together.
4. Next, boil water in a pan. Put the boba into boiling water and cook until the boba floats.
5. Remove and drain the cooked boba.
6. Heat the Teflon, add brown sugar and 200 ml of water. Cook until the sugar dissolves and the mixture boils.
7. Add boba to the sugar mixture, then cook until the water reduces slightly and thickens. Stir constantly so the boba doesn’t stick.
8. Once ready, set the boba aside and put it in cold water
9. Simple boba is ready to be served. Take the cooled boba and put it in milk tea or another sweet drink.
