Jakarta (ANTARA) – PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) said that the collaboration between the Ministry of BUMN and the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) could increase the independence and competitiveness of MSMEs on a global scale.
“Collaboration with BPOM is an important step to help MSMEs penetrate wider markets, both domestic and global,” said PT PNM President Director Arief Mulyadi in an official statement in Jakarta, Tuesday.
Arief admitted that he was optimistic because the initiative carried out by the Ministry of BUMN together with BPOM would encourage the entrepreneurial spirit of its fostered customers and move them out of the subsistence zone.

This is also in line with PNM’s activities in providing intellectual and social capital in addition to financial capital to grow into a civil society.
“With access to financing and assistance, MSMEs will have more competitiveness and will be increasingly trusted by buyers,” said Arief.
As a form of support, Arief explained that PNM would provide education about the importance of having a BPOM distribution permit for businesses, especially in the food, beverage and herbal product sectors.

He hopes to continue to contribute to supporting the accelerated growth of MSMEs as the backbone of the national economy through light and relevant education.
Previously, on November 26 2024, the Head of BPOM Taruna Ikrar and the Minister of BUMN Erick Thohir signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the BPOM Bhinneka Tunggal Ika Hall, Jakarta.

The memorandum of understanding contains coordination of the tasks and functions of the two institutions in supporting increasing the independence and competitiveness of MSME products in the medicine and food sector as well as increasing the number of MSME products that meet BPOM standards.
This big goal relies on three strategic steps, namely maximizing the MSME digital market ecosystem (PaDi), utilizing the PNM Mekaar program database and digitizing synergies to consolidate the database.
