Jakarta (ANTARA) – A unique and meaningful new place is present on Jl. Wahid Hasyim No.12, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Warung Kopi (Warkop) Phoenampungan, which not only offers a delicious cup of coffee, but also a space to exchange ideas and inspiration for activists across sectors in Indonesia.
This place was founded by six young overseas people from South Sulawesi, namely Muhammad Risman Pasigai (MRP), Abdul Razak Said, Ziaul Haq Coi, Rizky Maulana, Saudi Arabia Tahir, and Thamrin Barubu.
“The coffee shop closed, then for about three years our friends, especially from Makassar, from Sumatra, from several regions, and activist friends had no place to gather. “Then they scattered around to find a place to gather,” he said in a written statement received on Tuesday.

Finally, MRP together with five friends created a space for activists to gather. That space is now called Warkop Poenampungan.
“Finally, I and several friends took the initiative, what if we made a coffee shop as a center, as a gathering point for friends who have been with us,” he said.
The name Poenampungan was chosen not without reason. MRP shares the hope that this place will accommodate all kinds of groups and various thoughts.

“I talked to my friends, what if we called our warkop Penampungan Warkop. So it accommodates all ideas, all ideas. “All friends from everywhere, we accommodate here, we accelerate here,” he said.
MRP explained that Warkop Phoenampungan is not just an economic venture, but is a space where young people can gather, discuss and inspire each other.
Warkop Phoenampungan brings a spirit of simplicity and togetherness through its distinctive tagline, “Cultivate as needed, drink enough coffee, be friends forever”.

Coffee shops have always been a symbol of great movements and thoughts for many generations. At Warkop Phoenampungan, revolutionary ideas, social change and small business innovations are often born from light discussions.
Its flagship menu, typical South Sulawesi coffee, is one of the attractions that brings authentic flavors from the homeland of its founders.
