KOMPAS.com – Fried rice is always a quick choice for a meal at home. If you want to try something different, the otak-otak fried rice is quite interesting.
It tastes delicious with a touch of spicy flavor that you can adjust to your own taste. As much as possible, use yesterday’s rice or cold rice so that the results are better.

Material:
- 500 grams of white rice
- 3 cloves garlic (finely chopped)
- 5 vegetarian otak-otak (fried, cut)
- 1/2 red bell pepper (diced)
- 2 sprigs caisim (cut)
- 50 grams mixed vegetables or various frozen vegetables
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1/2 tablespoon chili sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 spring onion (sliced obliquely)
- 1 tablespoon margarine (for frying)
How to make otak-otak fried rice
- Heat margarine in a frying pan. Fry chopped garlic until aromatic, add paprika and mixed vegetables. Stir well until the vegetables are slightly wilted.
- Add the otak-otak pieces and caisim, stir until all the ingredients are evenly mixed.
- Add white rice. Stir until evenly mixed with the other ingredients. Season with soy sauce, chili sauce, salt and ground black pepper. Keep stirring until the fried rice is cooked perfectly.
- Add sliced spring onions. Stir briefly until the spring onions wilt. Remove and serve while warm.
