Jakarta (ANTARA) – Minister of Communication and Digital (Menkomdigi) Meutya Hafid said that the government is involving local micro, small and medium enterprises or MSMEs in preparing food for the Free Nutritious Meal Program for school students.
After reviewing the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal Program at SDN Cilangkap 5, Depok, West Java, Monday, he said that the preparation of the menu in the Free Nutritious Meal Program was adjusted to the strengths of MSMEs in each region.
“So, if the strength is in chicken farming, then that will be absorbed. If there is a cattle farm, then that will be absorbed. So, we will also look at local wisdom in terms of the food menu,” said Meutya.
According to him, the government is very open to receiving input regarding the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) for school students.
“The government is very open to input. On the first day we will look at the evaluation. If we forget anything, we will remind the SPPG later,” he said, referring to the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit.

On the first day of implementing the MBG Program, Meutya inspected the provision of food for students at SDN Cilangkap 3 and SDN Cilangkap 5 in Depok City.
He assessed that in general the implementation of the MBG Program in Depok City was going well, starting from the preparation process, delivery, to distributing food to students.
“Hopefully this will be a good thing, a benefit not only for the younger siblings who receive free nutritious food or MBG but also for the entire ecosystem that helps,” he said.
The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) started implementing the Free Nutritious Meal Program on Monday (6/1).
The implementation of the program is supported by 190 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) or MBG Kitchens spread across 26 provinces, including Aceh, Bali, West Sumatra, North Sumatra, Riau Islands, Riau, Lampung, Banten, West Java, Jakarta, Central Java, East Java, Special Region of Yogyakarta, and Gorontalo.
